St. Nicolas winter Race!

Ol' St' Nic's race marks the beginning of our real winter, the period where we racers stop racing. It is the last important sailing race among the Athenian sailing community. By now the weather is normally cold enough to hesitate going out sailing, but this year on the day of the race the weather was quite enjoyable. Although the race started with strong winds, they later calmed down and made up for optimal wind conditions and a delightful downwind sail.

To make up for the cold, the Yacht Club always organizes a hot bean soup dish to be served to all participants, this is why between us we call it the "bean soup" race!
