50th Andros International Regatta

Running from the 2nd to the 5th of June 2017, the Andros Race was organized by the Nautical Club of Andros. The route started with an offshore race of 80 nautical miles from Vouliagmeni (on the coast of Athens) to the Chora of Andros. This route is known to entail fierce weather conditions, but this year they were particularly mild! The fleet passed by the usually treacherous Cavo D'Oro with a very mild breeze. After arriving finally in Andros, the crews indulged in some of the Andros Yacht Club's famous welcoming parties.

On the second day, the inshore race took place in optimal wind conditions. The Jack & Jenny Sailing Team sailing on the Alter Ego GRE 280 yacht won first place in ORC Club category in the Inshore Race of the 50th Andros International Yacht Race. They were closely followed by the rest of the Jack & Jenny crew sailing on the Larne classic yacht winning second place in the same category!

After an all-night celebration, the fleet raced on the 3rd day for a second offshore race from the port of Chora to the Andros-Tinos straight. Then it was back to the shores of Attica.
